March 1, 2011

After the meter guy came by, who happened to have sparkly eyes and asked if I hid ex-boyfriends in a locker I was inspecting in my backyard near the meter, I realized it was a great day to do some work outside.  Unfortunately the work I produced was a lovely organic cut I was not planning to produce. Although, I should have known better. I don't cut straight lines.  I don't draw straight lines either.

But this post isn't a rant on my poor sawing skills.  This is a post about what I painted today.

Clouds. In continuance of my pre-tirement painting life.

Nevermind the glare.

  1. It's true to your style. I like how it looks like the clouds are crawling over the...are they mountains? Are they waves?...but they are crawling along and I like that. Another interesting thing about this piece is that I can't tell if it's sunrise or twilight. But both hours of the day are mirror images of one another so it works for me. Did you know that to me those clouds have kind of a reptilian shape to them? You know now!
In conclusion: there is a lot that's uncertain in this picture (hour of day, land or sea, point of reference) but that's not necessarily a bad thing because a lot of times people look out to the sky when they are uncertain of things; like the clouds' direction would hold the answer.
